The word “trauma” may be used in two separate situations. It refers to bodily harm inflicted on a person by an external agency in the physical sense. Trauma refers to an emotional reaction to a very upsetting or unsettling occurrence in a psychological context. It might be the unexpected death of a loved one, an accident, rape, or a natural calamity. In this article, the term trauma will be used in a psychological context.

A person who has experienced trauma might react in a variety of ways. They might be in shock, be in deep grief, or be in denial. Trauma can cause a variety of longer-term effects, including emotional lability, flashbacks, impulsiveness, and damaged relationships, in addition to the acute or short-term response. Trauma can cause physical symptoms such as headaches, fatigue, and nausea, in addition to psychological ones. Some people may be more impacted than others. Such individuals may get imprisoned by the trauma's emotional impact and find it difficult to go on with their life. It occurs when a person is subjected to a series of stressful, long-term, and/or sustained traumatic experiences over a lengthy period. A long-term catastrophic disease, sexual abuse, domestic violence, bullying, and exposure to harsh conditions, such as war, can all cause chronic trauma. Acute trauma from several episodes, as well as untreated acute trauma, can lead to chronic trauma. Chronic trauma symptoms can take a long time to manifest, even years after the occurrence. Symptoms include labile or unexpected emotional outbursts, anxiety, intense rage, flashbacks, weariness, body pains, headaches, and nausea, among others. These people may have trust difficulties, and as a result, their relationships and careers are unstable. Complex trauma:

It's the outcome of being exposed to a variety of stressful events or situations. The incidents usually take place in the context of a personal (between-people) connection. It might make a person feel like they're stuck. A person's psyche is often severely impacted by complex trauma. Individuals who have experienced childhood abuse, neglect, marital violence, family disagreements, or other recurring events, such as civil turmoil, may exhibit it. It has an impact on a person's general health, relationships, and work or school performance.
