Someone asked me “How do I remove a google account from my phone that I don’t need anymore. Is there any way I could remove Gmail account from android phone?”

The question to me was quite simple and it made me think to write this post.

Because many android users can have the same question.

Apart from this, I will also try to clear your other doubts too. 

Why should you remove google account from android?

If you’re using a mobile device with multiple user profiles and you don’t want to access your other google account, then it’s better to get it removed.

It is easy to remove Google account on your Android phone. But you also need to know the risk and the issues you might face after deleting Gmail from your phone. 

What happens when you remove your Google account from android phone?

Deleting Gmail account from your phone is not as hard you think.

But before you do this you must know what would happen if you remove your Google account? And, how it will affect you?

·         You can’t use the service such as Gmail to see your emails

·         You won’t be able to access the data including records, photos or emails that is connected to your Google account

·         Apps such as YouTube and others that are connected with Google Play won’t be accessible anymore

·         The data you saved in Google Chrome would be lost

If you do not have any problem from after effects, then move on to the next step in order to delete Gmail account from your phone. 

How to remove Gmail account from android phone?

Make sure you’re logged in as the correct user before disconnecting google account if you are using phone with multiple users.

Step 1.First head over to your phone setting and tap on the Accounts.

Step 2. Under “Accounts,” you’ll see multiple accounts linked to your phone, tap on the name of the account that you want to remove.

Step 3. Tap on Google and then the account if you’re using a Google account.

Caution: When you remove Google Account, all the email, contacts, drive, Google play, Calendar events, and other data associated with that account will no longer automatically sync with your device.

Step 4. Tap the Menu icon from the top right corner of the screen.

Step 5. Tap Remove account. You may get asked to enter your device’s pattern, PIN, or password as a security measure if it is the only Google account in your android phone. It happens to ensure that only you or someone you trust is removing the account from your device.

Pro TipIf your friend ask you to use your phone for few days. Then he/she can use that Gmail account from your phone instead as it will create a separate user space or temporary guest space for him.
