When Turnover Rhymes With Online Reputation

Still too few entrepreneurs and decision makers are sensitive to the impact of their online reputation on their turnover. Here is my observation and my solutions to give "good grain" to grind to Google, but not only.

In a world where everything is constantly "Googled", I would always be alarmed by the very relaxed attitude of entrepreneurs, and other decision-makers of large groups, towards their online reputation. The ultra-digital ecosystem in which we gravitate mixes, without visible border, the background and the form. In other words, the data visible on the web has a direct impact on the real, namely the sacrosanct turnover. It is time to put reputation online in the "postulate" section of your business strategy and your personal branding strategy.

This "Dear" Warren Is Sometimes Right

As in a house of cards, a simple breeze can destroy years of effort… unless the castle has solid foundations! In other words, it takes time to build a solid online reputation so that one or more articles cannot reduce everything to negative bytes.

A (very) dissatisfied customer, business partners with a questionable spirit of revenge, a rather annoyed former employee, or a competitor eager to glean market shares in an obscure manner, the "reasons" to digitally destroy the other unfortunately not lacking. I thought I saw everything, but each case shows me the singular capacity of the human being to be a wolf.

Sometimes these attacks are "justifiable", but often they are not. As Warren Buffet said, it only takes a few minutes to see an entire empire collapse.

82% of the data…. A figure worth thousands of words, I put that there: 82% of information related to a brand ... does not come from it! Regarding the data of a given person, we are lucky to be able to better control this flow, so believe me, you might as well take advantage of it!

A Few Keys To Mastering Your Online Reputation

The objective of this article is not to sink into a pixelated catastrophism, but to be aware of the fact that everything can really go very quickly in the era of social networks, messaging applications (Telegram, WhatsApp) and data-intensive SERPs (search engines). All of this can go a long way in improving your digital marketing.

I will spare you the basic advice (properly "reserve" your name on all social networks, buy websites in your name, authenticate your accounts, set up a watch, clean up little shots to your advantage, commitment to streamlined discussions, ...) to lean on the school cases that have come before my eyes.

Content, Content, and Content (Text)

Following a simple search for your surname, you will quickly identify the websites that rank. Take the opportunity to create, in the first place, content on them. Often, it's LinkedIn, Twitter, but savor the power of Medium, About Me, Do You Buzz or Tumblr.

I am not asking you to create different articles of 1000 words on each platform, but to "stay alive" by producing positive information (necessarily) about you. New customers? New offices? A presence at a renowned event? Let it be known, Google loves fresh content (SEO Inside)!

Your Asset: An Infographic Every 6 Months

A real weapon of "massive construction", computer graphics is the X factor of your online reputation. Beyond the textual content mentioned above, infographics is a compendium of first-hand data. In addition to an often attractive visual aspect, it will allow you to stand out by producing keys to understanding the market in which you are operating.

On the one hand, you will therefore give relevant information and you will make it shine under your name (personal or brand). Ideal to share (and share), I always recommend creating such content every 6 months. Do not panic, you will find experts not necessarily overpriced on Fiverr, Freelance or other.

Do You Have A Smartphone? Film!

At a time when visual content has taken the lead over other types of content, opt for video. A simple smartphone is enough, just like a YouTube account created in a few minutes. Contrary to popular belief, you do not necessarily need professional equipment, an editor and a cameraman.

The objective here is to show signs of life again and to open up a dialogue. Identify a relevant subject, film yourself and then take advantage (again) of Google to bring this video up in Page 1 when a request is made on you, or your brand.

As in judo, use the strength of the other (Google) to win!
