HIGHLIGHTS
- Sony to remove access of movies and TV shows from PlayStation Store
- According to legal notices, shutdown affects users in Germany and Austria
- Previous purchased content will also get removed from customers’ video libraries
As per a report, the sudden close down has affected the users in Germany and Austria. The users were aware of such information through the legal notices which were posted on the two specific regional sites, and the covers films which were produced by the StudioCanal.
This shutdown is expected to come into force on August 31, precisely after one year of Sony to discontinue movie and television shows which were purchased through its digital store, itself.
According to a report, there was a specific time when Sony had announced that its customers can still be able to access the content which was purchased previously.
The PlayStation website had certain notices which were posted there and would blame “evolving license agreements with content providers' (via machine translation) for the upcoming changes. It would even mention that the content which was purchased is going to be removed as soon as possible from the customers’ video libraries.
Well the sudden shutdown had been serving as an important reminder that whenever anyone “buy' a title digitally, then the person’s ownership would still depends on a retailer continued to exist and then had the proper licensing deals in place of requirement.
