PC Shipment Declined Globally in Q1 2022 Following 2 Years of Growth: IDC
Globally, the Shipping of PCs declined by a certain percentage as shown in Q1 2022 following 2 years of growth. Among all PCs manufacturer Companies, Lenovo grabs the top position in terms of sales and shares.

Where Lenovo grab the top position in terms of shipping the most PCs in Q1 of 2022, HP has been second in position with having 19.7 percent of the share.
As per the first quarter report of shipping PCs, globally shipping of PCs declined by 5.1 percent during the Q1 quarter of 2022, revealed by International Data Corporation (IDC). After managing the obstacles, still managed to ship 80.5 million PCs during the time.
The shipping percentage may indeed be less than the previous quarter but it still managed to cross 80 million which was not seen since 2012. The ranking of top vendors also not changed in this quarter after comparing to the last quarter.
As per the report for this quarter, Lenovo Company is on the top vendor’s list with a 22.7 percent market share, followed by HP at 19.7 percent, Dell at 17.1 percent, and Apple at 8.9 percent. This quarterly, Asus and Acer secured the fifth position in terms of shipping of PCs with 6.9 and 6.8 percent market shares respectively.
Among all the top vendors Apple, Dell and Asus were the only company that saw year-over-year shipment growth.
The Worldwide mobile tracking group said “the focus shouldn’t be on the year-on-year decline in PC volumes because that was to be expected. The focus should be on the PC industry managing to ship more than 80 million PCs at a time when logistics and supply chain are still a mess, accompanied by numerous geopolitical and pandemic-related challenges,” Ryan Reith, IDC’s Group Vice President said.
