introduced the desktop gadget feature with Windows Vista. These gadgets provide
a lot many information at a glance and are low on system resources as well. Windows
7 has many gadgets and supports installing third-party gadgets from the web.
These gadget are removed from Windows 8, 8.1
and the latest Windows 10 due to security reasons. Microsoft, in fact, has been providing a tool
to completely uninstall desktop gadgets from Windows 7 operating system. But in
Windows 10, the live tiles act as desktop gadgets. The weather app’s live tile
offer the same or more information than the weather gadget of Windows 7. But
then to, if we wish to see these live tiles in Windows 10, we need to switch to
the Start menu or Start screen.
Install desktop gadgets in Windows 10

the two applications you can use to install gadgets of Windows 7 in Windows 10.

desktop gadgets available in Windows 7. We can thus download and install them
in Windows 10. It includes, Slide show, Weather, Feed Headlines, Picture
Puzzle, CPU Meter, Currency, Calendar, and Clock gadgets.

menu, so anyone can access all installed gadgets on Windows 10 just like in

Windows 7. 8GadgetPack was developed for Windows 8 and 8.1, but it’s compatible
with Windows 10 as well.
When you install 8GadgetPack, you’ll see a
sidebar containing your favorite desktop gadgets. Around total 45 gadgets are
installed when you install 8GadgetPack, including, custom calendar, clock,
calendar, currency, clipboard, app launcher, and all CPU meter. This also adds
gadget option to desktop context menu.
