New feature of WhatsApp for Android called Motion Photos allows sending and receiving animated images in their original state. Now, motion photos turn into still images or into videos and thus do not have the same effect. This update makes it possible for users to share high quality animated pictures while still being animated and brings more depth in sharing media.
The feature will prove useful to those who often take motion photos, especially those using flagship Android devices. To this, add the fact that WhatsApp has decided to go along with the rising need for improved abilities in multimedia sharing. With this form of animation, the platform seeks to enhance messaging as it will be longer and more elaborate. This also means that WhatsApp is now equal to other messaging apps with a native support for the motion photos.
WhatsApp has not provided the expected date of a new version but users testing the beta version are likely to get a glimpse first. Of the two changes, the addition of Pillar C is likely to arrive first for Mac users before rolling out for iOS users and is likely to be released slowly to avoid causing disruption. When enabled, Motion Photos for Android will enhance a way users share moments, consequently making WhatsApp even more effective communication medium.
