Here are some merits or advantages of using JavaScript are −

Less server interaction − we can easily validate user input before sending any page off to the server. This helps to save server traffic, that means less load on our server.
Immediate feedback to the visitors – Users don't have to wait for a page to be reload to see whether they have forgotten to enter something or not.
Increased interactivity − We can create interfaces easily that react when the users have over them with a mouse or also they activates them via the keyboard.
Richer interfaces − We can use JavaScript which include such items like drag-and-drop components and sliders which give a Rich Interface to our site visitors.
