WhatsApp Beta Rolls Out "Remind Me" Feature for Custom Message Alerts
WhatsApp starts working on the Remind Me feature in the new Android beta (v2.24.15.6). With this WhatsApp Remind Me feature, some beta users can create alerts on particular messages in the conversations. It is possible to set a reminder so that the users never fail to follow up on important conversations in the testing process.
Highlights:
- Access the "Remind me" option by long-pressing any message.
- Set custom reminder times (e.g., 1 hour, evening, next week).
- Receive notifications directly within the relevant chat.
- The feature targets reducing missed responses in busy chats.
- Availability is currently limited to Android beta testers.
The WhatsApp Remind Me functionality works through the long press of a message. The users then choose the option "remind me." They select a ready-made time such as In 1 hour or enter a definite personal date and time. This activity causes the chosen message to be alerted in the chat window.
This WhatsApp Remind Me feature tackles the problem of messages being buried in on-going chat. It allows them to mark certain things that will need attention later in the future in WhatsApp. The tool helps in keeping in mind that you need to respond or find action on important messages sometime later.
WhatsApp Remind Me is still in development with Android beta. It will be released to the public after feedback is tested. The beta testing period will be accompanied by a wider availability, and even the iOS support. This WhatsApp Remind Me extension is capable of improving messaging capacity.
