Apple Watch access to 100 million people, a new success story of Apple!
Apple Watch recorded 100 million purchases over the five years of its launching, according to the analyst.
Like every new launch, the introduction of Apple's smartwatch in 2015 was associated with skepticism about how the smart device would make its place in the real world. Now over these five years, the Apple watch is consumed by 100 million people, as per the report of the reliable analyst Neil Cybart at Above Avalon.
Analyst says, “it took five-and-a-half years for the Apple Watch installed base to surpass 100 million people.” Cybart's estimation reveals that in 2020, 30 million new people purchased the device which, "has nearly exceeded the number of new Apple Watch wear new Apple Watch wearers in 2015, 2016, and 2017 combined.” It has been noted in the analysis that around 10% of iPhone users already wear the Apple Watch.
"As of the end of 2020, approximately 10% of iPhone users were wearing an Apple Watch. This is a high percentage given the diverse technological wants and needs of those in the iPhone installed base. Since the U.S. has been an Apple Watch stronghold for years, adoption in the country has trended materially high in comparison to global figures. At the end of 2020, approximately 35% of iPhone users in the U.S. were wearing an Apple Watch."
While the percentages might be looking low, these give the idea of expansion probability in the future, for there is a fact, that there exist more than one billion iPhone users in the world. The research also revealed that the Apple Watch is currently company's fourth-largest product in the line of iPhone, iPad, and Mac and it is expected that the Watch will overtake the Mac by 2022.
The cool factor of the watch also boosted its popularity. Moreover, its unique features like monitoring activity, vital signs, and integration of the Watch with the other Apple products and devices are also responsible for its success. On the analysis of the growth cycle of Apple's watch, it is concluded that the sales of the same are expected to grow even more as the tech giant is working on new features like the unlocking iPhone with the Apple Watch that was added with iOS 14.5 beta.
