Apple's collaboration with TSMC to revamp AR glasses
Apple's collaboration with TSMC secretes a better strategy for AR glasses.
As it has been recently reported, that Apple Inchas tied its hands with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co to generate micro OLED displays which are planned to be used in high tech eyewear-Augmented Device. The purpose of the collaboration with TSMC, a monopolist of iPhone processors is to incorporate micro OLED displays that are far thinner, smaller, consume less power into wearable AR devices for better vision. The displays going under process are less than 1 inch in size as per the information.
In January, Bloomberg News reported that Apple was still involved in operating underlying technologies to add advancement pitch to its AR glasses, codenamed N421. It was also reported, that the product will take several years to get launched but added the multinational tech giant has previously targeted to roll out its output in the early 2023's.
The micro OLED project with TSMC is currently at the initial stage of development and will take years to accomplish production in bulk as per the sources. Collaborators (Apple and TSMC) didn't respond to the news agency, Reuters, though.
