NASA staff to wear Fitbit device to keep working safely and healthily in the virus-containing atmosphere.
2020, the deadliest pandemic year of the decade, has urged the workforces to dive into the remote working pool to remain untouched from the virus and its terror. But this cannot be extended for years as we have a vaccine now, but there is no treatment to fear. That's why some far thinker companies have now started to work on those possibilities and logistics which can let us work at the official workplace safely and distantly. Because of this, there will be possible involvement of technologies to monitor, predict and suggest adjustments or modifications to the company's policies and programs. Like, the United States’ National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is now giving its productive time on a Pilot program with Fitbit and it’s ready to be used by its thousand staff, according to the company.
There are 150 astronauts and other employees who are critical to future space missions out of those thousand employees to get Fitbit Charge 4 devices, is an attempt of NASA to be safe against the risk of spreading a virus among the space crew, as a part of the administration’s Health Stabilization Program.
The expected challenge to be in the way of Fitbit and NASA will be that the Fitbit device receivers can identify asymptomatic employees and make the quarantine. According to Fitbit, the device will keep a check on the user's health through their daily check-in and will provide hem guidance as to whether report at or to stay home.
On working with NASA, the company shared its views by stating “We are proud to work with NASA to support its employees and give them access to Fitbit products and services to help them better understand and manage their health and well-being during the pandemic. NASA will evaluate the pilot program and consider expanding to a larger employee population based on the impact the program has on helping to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and in supporting the health and wellness of NASA employees.”
