Grounded is an electric RV startup founded in 2022 by former Tesla and SpaceX engineers and operating out of a Ford-sponsored incubator in Detroit, has created the G2 as a step forward in the world of fully electrified motorhomes. Priced at $195,000, the G2 offers a range of 250 miles, surpassing the G1's 108-mile range. It can also be equipped with up to 640W of rooftop solar power and a 10kWh home battery that can be charged from the main battery.
The G2 is built on GM's platform and offers 615 square feet of living space. Grounded CEO Sam Shapiro highlights the vehicle's modular interior, allowing users to adapt the RV to changing needs and preferences. The G2 can be equipped with Starlink for off-grid connectivity, in-cabin heating and cooling, an indoor shower, a wet bath, induction hobs, and a queen-size bed, all backed by an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty.
Customers who place a $100 deposit can customize their G2 through design meetings with Grounded. Deliveries for this innovative electric RV are set to begin this month, offering a glimpse into the future of sustainable travel.
