Threads on Instagram may soon allow users to alter their postings.
Threads, Meta's X (previously Twitter) competitor, is getting an edit button. Users would be able to amend their posts within five minutes after publishing them.
Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri mentioned the possibility of an edit button immediately after the app's July launch. Developer Alessandro Paluzzi, formerly of Twitter, disclosed this development, implying that it will be available to users soon.
Threads is set to introduce an edit feature that allows users to make changes to their posts within five minutes of posting them. The feature will also display a post's edit history, similar to Instagram's edited caption history. This feature is not yet available but may be introduced in the near future. Threads' competitor, X, has an edit feature for a long time but is paywalled behind the $8 Premium subscription. On X, users can edit a post within 30 minutes of publishing. It is unclear when the edit feature will be available on Threads and if it will be free or restricted to paid users. Meta has also introduced a new feature for Threads, allowing users to switch between multiple profiles on mobile. The app has also added support for additional languages and is now available on the web.
