Iowa is Expected to See Heavy Growth in Multiple Sectors

According to a report published by the Survey Monkey, the state of Iowa is expected to see heavy growth in terms of sales across multiple sectors of business by the end of June 2020. It is to be noted that Iowa has consistently shown signs of excellent business growth over the last few years and therefore, this isn’t particularly unexpected. A closer look into the recent performance and current expectations of the business owners reveals a lot about what to expect from Iowa in the near future in terms of business growth and employment opportunities.

Iowa Continues to Break Records

In the year 2018, Iowa broke old records to set a new one for the highest number of new business filings in one fiscal year within the United States. In light of the fact that the previous record was also set by Iowa, as well as the one before that, the record number of filings doesn’t quite come as a surprise either, but it is certainly an assurance of the state’s continuing growth across various industries. Ever since the slump of the fiscal year 2013 – 2014, the graph has been steadily rising in Iowa in terms of business growth.

Exactly 23,649 new businesses were launched in the state between July 1, 2017, and June 30, 2018, establishing it as not just the number one state in terms of opportunities for new businesses to start and flourish, but it also exhibits tremendous employment opportunities for business school graduates. Iowa will continue to be one of the top states for fresh MBA graduates to look for lucrative jobs and it is estimated that the increasing number of businesses in the state might require more business graduates soon than what is available currently.

Since accredited one year online MBA programs from the likes of Spring Arbor University have now made it possible to complete the course in just twelvemonths, it could be an excellent opportunity for young business professionals to take advantage of the growth in Iowa by completing their online MBA, just in time to take full advantage of the growing need for qualified business managers in the state.

The State Facilitates this Growth with an Accelerated Filing System

The record number of filings was also made possible because Secretary Pate introduced a brand-new filing system that speeds up the entire procedure involving the registration of business within the state of Iowa. As stated officially, a new business can register with the state in a matter of just five minutes, as long as the filing is completed during the business hours of a working day. Even business registration requests filed at odd hours are now being processed within just 24 hours from the time of the filing, or even less.

Roughly 73% of the Businesses in Iowa Expect a Heavy Sales Boost

Significant growth in business establishments is only observed when there is scope to justify that growth, and that has indeed so far been the situation in Iowa. Not only have the new and old businesses been most profitable in the state already, but about 73% of all businesses in Iowa are also expecting to see a significant sales boost in the coming twelve months.

About One-Quarter of the Businesses are Not as Optimistic

According to data published by the Iowa Association of Business and Industry, approximately one-quarter, or 23% of the Iowan businesses are not as optimistic as most are. They expect their revenue generations to remain similar to what they were last year, which in itself doesn’t speak poorly either, given that the fiscal year from 2017 – 2018 was a very profitable one for the state.

Growth in Employment Opportunities by the Next Quarter

About 47% of the businesses operating in Iowa believe that employment opportunities will grow quite significantly in the state by the end of the second quarter of 2019. On the other hand, another 47% of business owners have expressed that they are more inclined to expect employment rates to remain the same during the second quarter as well.

What can be estimated without a doubt, however, is that in accordance with the number of new businesses growing in the state, the employment rates and opportunities will inevitably grow as well by the end of FY 2018 – 2019.

Although the expected sales boom is quite varied in nature, showing estimated growth across multiple sectors, acquisition and construction are the two most lucrative fields in Iowa right now for investors.
