
WhatsApp Privacy Policy Receives Ultimatum Until End of February, Says EU
WhatsApp will face the inquiry by EU Consumer Protection Law and will clarify Privacy Policy.

After the complaint of consumers, the official government of the EU has ordered the WhatsApp authority that was owned by Facebook and said about to give the clarification over the matter of its change Privacy Policy and its loyalty over the data of the users and also to answer whether the new Privacy Policy complies with the EU Consumer Protection Laws or not. The information was released by the European Commission on Thursday.
The organization of related Consumer as European Consumer Organisation (BEUC) has approached EU executive and the European Network of Consumer Authorities for the security of its people’s data. The organization has a complaint that it is forcing the users to accept its unfair Privacy Policy in which it shares some data of the users with another platform such as Facebook and others.
The subject of concern reached the EU authorities and the EU Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders has presented his worries in front of the government and also asked WhatsApp to clarify the Policy and if it complies with EU Consumer Protection Law.
His statement as “ WhatsApp has until the end of February to back to us with concrete commitments on how they will address our concerns,” said Didier Reynders.
The area of the concerns includes the two main points whether the company will provide sufficient information about its new terms and policies and the other is if its notifications prompt users to accept the new terms and Privacy Policies are fair.
The commission has also commented on the issue of the engagement of the user’s data to third parties like Meta’s Facebook and others.
In the above matter, the spokesperson of WhatsApp also has commented on the concern as “we look forward to explaining to the European Commission how we protect our user’s policy in compliance with our obligations under EU law,” said the WhatsApp spokesperson.
