Twitter Swarm may function as a secret organisation , people may share their tweets.
HIGHLIGHTS
An explanation of Twitter Flock has been published on the internet.
The functionality was recently discovered in a Twitter test app.
In July of last year, Twitter unveiled the notion of 'Trusted Friends'.
WHY IN NEWS
Twitter Flock might be the final version of the 'Trusted Friends' function, which was first revealed as a concept by the microblogging network in July of last year. It looks to allow users to create groups of up to 150 individuals who will all be able to read and reply to their tweets discreetly. The code to indicate the Flock functionality was also found in a dissection of a recent Twitter for Android beta app. By bringing Flock to Twitter, the company may be attempting to compete with Instagram's 'Close Friends' feature. Instead of making their Stories public, Instagram users may share them with a select group of individuals.

Alessandro Paluzzi, a reverse engineer, shared a snapshot of how Twitter Flock may operate on Friday. It appears that users will be able to add up to 150 others to their Flock, where they will be able to discreetly exchange their stuff. Users in the Flock will only be able to read and react to tweets that have been shared inside it. Users will be able to dismiss any of the persons in their Flock, according to the screenshot posted by Paluzzi. Accounts that are removed from the Flock will not be contacted. In December, the engineer discovered the installation of Twitter Flock as a renamed version of Trusted Friends. Paluzzi also tweeted an image earlier this month showing the functionality in action on the timeline.

Separately, XDA Developers stated that the strings relating to the Flock feature were included in the disassembly of Twitter for Android beta version 9.27.0.2. According to the coding, the functionality would allow users to limit the appearance of specific tweets to select groups. When a tweet sent in their group appeared, those who were joined to the Flock would get a notice on their timeline. The strings also show that the original Trusted Friends service, which was revealed last year, has been rebranded. 'Twitter is constantly looking for innovative methods to help people have healthy conversations, and we're presently looking into ways to allow individuals to Tweet to smaller groups,' says the company. Last year, we teased this idea since public comment helps us refine what we develop. 'We don't have any other information to provide at this time, but more information will be available soon,' the spokeswoman stated in an email.
