I have used the code first approach to design the database as follows:

Then create the database context class in the model:

After creating the context class create a HomeController and inside that create action Index(). Then right click on the Index() action and create a view Index.

Then create WebGrid in the view Index as follows and set the ajaxUpdateContainerId property of WebGrid with the id of the division containing the web grid.
