College can be hard, and if your’e taking a boatload of classes, you definitely want to make sure that you handle any stressors that come about during your time in college. College can cause a lot of issues mentally, including stress, and there is a reason why the “freshman fifteen” is a common issue with college kids. Stress isn’t good for the body, since it can cause anxiety disorders, panic attacks, stress eating which leads to weight gain, and a whole lot of other issues. Here, we’ll discuss how you can stay calm and fight these stressors effectively.

Don’t Let Outside Issues Affect Your Studies
Sometimes, issues that happen outside of classes can cause you to feel stressed about college. If you have issues, including relationship ones, and you need some relationship advice, don’t be afraid to seek it out. Sometimes, having a strong footing on your feelings outside of the classroom can help.

If it’s your family that is creating issues, sometimes talking to them can help. If you feel like your relationship is a bit strained, there are a few things that you can do, and you can go here, or click here to find out more about this, and to help you get a grip on your issues. You should also consider seeing a therapist if it becomes too much to handle.

Calm Down
If you have a big project, the one way to mess it up is to respond to it by being stressed. You should calm down, take a moment to breathe, and just focus on the project in parts.  Sometimes, divide and conquer is the best way to handle all of your college issues, and if it’s a presentation you’re making in class, these presentation tips may lead you in the right direction.

If you feel a panic attack or anxiety start to rear its ugly head, take a moment to calm down, and figure out how to approach the issue at hand in a healthy manner.

Become Mindful of What you’re Learning
Remember, you’re paying for college in some way, shape or form, so you should be mindful of what you’re learning. This also can help you better understand what it is that you’re learning, and prevent you from stressing yourself out when you’re learning something new.  Reflecting on what you’re learning, and getting a grip on what you’re understanding can help you improve your comprehension of everything, and mindfulness is quite healthy for learning, that’s for sure.

Do take some time to actually understand what it is that you’re taking in, and learn to understand why it matters to you, and what it can mean to your life.

Get help When Needed
If you are struggling with a subject, don’t be afraid to ask for help. This is the one problem many students struggle with. Getting help when needed isn’t a sign of weakness, or a sign of “stupidity.” College is hard, and if you’re working with topics that aren’t easy for you, it can be quite overwhelming. You don’t want to sit there pushing yourself into a panic attack because you don’t get it.  Get help. Do try to talk to the professor, but if they aren’t that helpful, do talk to other students. They can help.

College is incredibly stressful, and you may feel like you’re about to scream half the time when you’re trying to do work for your classes. But, take some time and reflect on what you’re doing, because it can in turn help you with improving your overall success.
