How to buy on Amazon - A step by step guide

Step 1: Go to the website of Amazon.

Step 2: Now, browse to the left side of your screen where you will see categories. Here you will see what is available on Amazon. Alternatively, you can search for a particular item in the search box displayed on the top of the page. Type what you want to buy and click the black GO button.

Step 3: A new page will be opened with a list of items on the basis of your search. You can narrow down your search by typing in more ‘keywords’ in the search box. Browse the list thoroughly to find the item you have been looking for.

Step 4: Click on the item you want. After clicking, you will be directed to a new page which will show more details about the product. If you want to know more about your product, scroll down the page to the product description and customer reviews.

Step 5: If you want to buy the product later but want to save it, then you can add it to Wish List and Amazon will save the details. If you want to buy the product now, click Add to Basket.

Step 6: However, if you want to negotiate a cheaper deal you can browse through other new and used versions of the same product, which are also for sale. Click on “No.” new or “No.” This will take you to a list of all the different sellers you can buy the product from and their prices.

Step 7: When you are looking about alternative sellers it is important that you consider the number of stars the seller has got by Amazon besides the price. Once you have decided to buy the product, click “Add to Basket.”

Step 8: Once you have finished shopping on Amazon, click on “Proceed to Checkout”.

Step 9: If you have already signed in then you will directed to the next page. But if you have not, then it will ask you to sign in. If you are new to Amazon, enter your email address in the box provided and click on ‘I am a new customer’. You will not be required to enter the password at this point

Step 10: You will have to enter the delivery address. Fill in all the details asked for address such as your name, PIN, etc. Click next to ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ depending on whether your delivery address is the same as your invoice address, then click “Continue.”

Step 11: Another page will be displayed on your screen to choose a delivery option. Those that are free will be marked ‘FREE’. Select the relevant one and click on “Continue”.

Step 12: Then, you will be directed to a page where you have to choose a payment option. Click on the mode of payment. If you are choosing credit/debit card option, select it and click Continue.

Step 13: You will get a review of your order and your delivery address and billing information will also be shown. Check all the details and then click “Place your order”.

Step 14: You will receive a message about your order in your inbox as well as SMS on the number you have fed. Amazon will keep you updated about the arrival of your order.
