The academic module of IELTS tests your analytical and comprehensive abilities and hence is a little more complicated than the general module. To get a good enough score, you should have the ability to pin down the principal argument, complete the diagram or the table and adequately summarize the article, and find out the details that support central ideas of the article. Englishstan, an IELTS academy in Jalandhar, can help you achieve that dream score.

There are 40 questions of the following type which you need to answer in 60 minutes:

• Table completion –Identify the information that is missing in the table sequence.

• True, false, not given type – You should be very attentive while answering these questions as they will confuse you with different or very little information.

• Flow-chart completion – Find the missing information to complete the flowchart sequence.

• Short-answer questions –To answer such questions, you need to have a good vocabulary while keeping in mind the mentioned word limit.

• Diagram label completion –In such type of questions, you would be required to find labels associated with a particular diagram; there would be accompanying the text to the diagram that would help you find the label. Make sure to read the text carefully, as in case the diagram is complex; it would help you a lot in identifying the correct answer.

• Multiple choice questions –Think carefully before marking the right option as the options are given generally have minimal differences to make it more difficult for you to find the correct answer.

• Matching information questions –In such questions, there are paragraphs with alphabetical or numerical labels. Your job is to identify the sentence that explains or summarizes the paragraph accurately. Make sure that you don’t mark the text of the paragraph as the correct answer but the paragraph label such as 1,2,3,4 or a,b,c,d.

• Matching headings questions –Try to comprehend the prime idea behind each paragraph and then match the most suitable heading to it.

• Matching features questions –Here, you need to match a name with its associated information. If you are looking for a high score, first look at the names in such questions and then find the related information.

• Sentence completion type – While a sentence completion type question may seem relatively easy to you, you must have the ability to paraphrase to be able to answer this question quickly. If your answer’s word length exceeds the word limit mentioned in the instructions, you rephrase the answer to fit the word length.
