Easiest Microwave Breakfast Recipes

Many skip breakfast because their days are too hectic to have the time to cook in the morning or maybe they want an extra half hour or so of sleep before heading out to work. However, with these microwave breakfast recipes, you can save time and not miss an important meal of the day, simultaneously.  

Blueberry pancake mug (Contains egg)

Total time needed: 6 minutes

What you need: 1 tablespoon of blueberries, 1 egg, 2 teaspoons of honey or maple syrup, 1 tablespoon of milk, 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, ¼ tablespoon of baking soda, and 3 tablespoons of all purpose flour.

How to prepare:

Take all ingredients except the blueberries and whisk them together in a microwave safe container. Ensure there are no lumps.

Stir the blueberries in the same container in the end.

Microwave this container for around 1 minute and check the top to see if it is firm upon touch.

Top it with a few blueberries and maple syrup/honey.

Savory breakfast mug (Non-veg)

Total time needed: 5 minutes

What you need: 1 cup of stale strong break cut into ½ inches, ¼ cup of vegetables (finely chopped), ¼ cup of meat (finely chopped), 1 egg, 1 tablespoon of butter, 3 tablespoon of milk, 2 tablespoon of cheese (shredded), a pinch of salt and pepper.

How to prepare:

Add butter to a microwave safe mug and set on high heat inside the microwave until it melts completely.

Using a fork to whisk the egg, milk, salt and pepper in the mug.

Add the meat and vegetables and stir.

Place the bread cubes until they are completely saturated.

Let all the ingredients settle in for 1 minute. Then microwave for 1 minute 90 seconds until the centre is solid.

PBJ Oatmeal (Vegan)

Total time needed: 8 minutes

What you need: 3 tablespoons of rolled oats, 2 tablespoons of peanut butter, 2 tablespoons of jelly, 2 tablespoons of nut milk, and 6 tablespoons of water.

How to prepare:

Add all ingredients in a microwave safe mug and mix together.

Heat for 1 minute and then stir. Continue this step until you see that it is fully cooked. This step can take up to 3 minutes and prevents overheating and spilling of ingredients.

If it is extra thick, then add a little nut milk.

Top the mug with strawberry jelly.

Bread Upma (Veg)

Total time needed: 20 minutes

What you need: 8 slices of bread, a bowl of water, 2 teaspoons of mustard seeds, 2 tablespoons of oil, ½ cup onions (finely chopped), ½ cup tomatoes (finely chopped), 1 ½ tablespoons of green chillies (finely chopped), ½ teaspoon of ginger (finely chopped), 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 ½ tablespoon of tomato ketchup, 1 teaspoon of powdered sugar, 2 curry leaves, 2 tablespoons of coriander (finely chopped), and salt for taste.

How to prepare:

Dip each bread slice in the bowl of water and squeeze it. Crumble slightly. Keep aside.

Add the oil to a microwave safe bowl and heat on high for 30 seconds.

Add the mustard seeds and heat on high for 30 seconds.

Add the onions and curry leaves, mix, and heat on high for 2 minutes while stirring it in intervals.

Add the green chillies, tomatoes, and ginger, mix, heat on high for 1 minute.

Take the crumbled bread slices, add tomato ketchup, sugar, lemon juice, coriander, and salt, mix with the other ingredients in the microwave bowl, heat on high for 2 minutes.
