How to maintain peaceful and productive interactions in the office

Any manager, at some point, experiences difficulties in the day-to-day office life. Either the staff doesn’t really mesh together, or maybe it’s merely time for a fresh start on things. Here are some of the typical problems in office reality and how to resolve them.

The employees step outside too often.

•    This might not seem like a problem at first, but it disrupts the processes in the office that should run uninterrupted. Maybe the reason for this is simple. There is an insufficient connection level in the office. Luckily, this is easily solved. The company GSM Repeater Deutschland offers devices just for such occasions, and so does GSM Repeaters France.  The repeaters will boost the signal, so your staff can stay put and still have the opportunity to be connected.

•    Another reason could be that maybe your staff is not motivated enough to devote longer, uninterrupted time to their task.  This is, of course, a deeper issue that requires more thought. Depending on the number of employees, the solutions will differ. Consulting a management psychologist will be beneficial in any case.

The deadlines are frequently not being met.

Observe your staff more closely, and you will be able to pinpoint the people that usually cause the deadline problem. Then follow a few simple steps that will shed more light on the issue.

•    Talk to them individually, make them feel comfortable, so they can be honest and open up about the difficulties they are experiencing.

•    Talk to them about the impact of the delays they cause.

•    Ask what they need to work more efficiently. More often than not, the issue is entirely resolvable.

•    Make your expectations of the work clear. Your staff has to know exactly what you expect of them.

Ambiguity will not do your business any good.

There are open conflicts between the staff.

Don’t look at this problem lightly; your business might be the one to pay for this conflict. So what should bed one about it?

•    Again, talk to the members of this conflict, both individually and together. Try to find out if their actual work has anything to do with it. If it does, you can work on the solution together. If the problem is of a more intimate nature, that doesn’t concern the work process, try to redirect them into different projects, until things cool down a bit. Then renew the talk to find out if they are ready to start working together peacefully.

•    Spend more time with your staff so you can spot potential problems early on. Organize more outings and activities together outside the office. People open up to each other a lot more in an informal environment, and you’ll be able to sense tension between your staff if there is any. Casual outings are a powerful tool for resolving existing conflicts as well as spotting early ones.

Too much paperwork

This is true, especially for big organizations rather than small ones. There is just too much paperwork to get any actual work done. The inefficient connection between departments might hold your business back and cost your employees their enthusiasm.

•    You might want to rethink the interdepartmental connection. It doesn’t have to be so elaborate. There are ways to make your staff suffer less with papers and work more efficiently.

•    This idea features a lot in this article, but TALK to your staff. They are bound to have good ideas on how to level up their game and what unnecessary paperwork can be dropped altogether.

The examples of the problems we discussed are, of course, only a few of the ones you might face as a manager, but we hope you are more ready to tackle them now.  Aspire to be a loyal leader to your staff, and they will repay you with trust and commitment!

Goodluck!
