Have A Narrow Target Market

It may feel as though you are going against all good sense if you decide to narrow your target market, but far from giving you fewer sales, this can actually help you to gain more. You will be able to focus a lot more on the people who you are able to serve the best, and to whom your products and services will be of most benefit.

You are effectively specializing when you narrow down the people you will be selling to, and this is something that will make you unique. Be the very best at your own small niche and you will sell. This is far more effective than being fairly good at a number of different areas within your sector. Although you might sell in quantity in this case, the quality would be reduced and you will soon be forgotten.

Have Exciting Offers

You might be wary of offering discounts and special pricing because it will cut into your profits, but if you can sell more items at reduced rates, your profits won’t be damaged and you will be seen as being unique, especially if your prices are significantly lower than anyone else’s in the area or in your sector.

Don’t just reduce the money side of things, though. Be creative when putting together special packages. If you sell a service you might able to offer some of it for free, for example, or include a free gift with every purchase. Look at what you can do that adds value to your products and services and that will make your customers feel they are getting an excellent bargain.

Be The Expert

If you can position yourself as an expert in your field, you will be unique. No one else will be able to compare to your knowledge of what you sell and the arena in which you sell it. Getting to this point can take a lot of hard work and you must be willing to be constantly learning, but it will be worth it. Once you can prove you are the expert who people should always ask questions of and buy from, that is exactly what will happen.

To be an expert you need to have the knowledge, but you also need to share that knowledge where possible. Host workshops and give talks in your local area. Offer advice where you can. Write a blog or record a vlog that explains how your products work and why people need them. The more you can prove that you are an expert, the more unique you can be and the more sales you will make because of it.
