Worried About a Sunny Side up Delivery

Once your pregnancy progresses you might be worried about how the baby is progressing. Routine check-ups would state that a baby is not in a correct position at the time of birth. Sometimes parents proceed ahead in a happy manner confirming that the baby is not breech. The main problem is that most mothers are clueless when it is their first pregnancy.

What happens if a baby is a sunny side up? In medical terms, it means that the head of the baby is pointed towards an abdomen. You can also term it as an occiput position. When a baby finds itself in such a position chance of assisted delivery occurs. Among the first time mothers, the figure tends to be on the higher side. A series of steps are to be taken so that the baby returns back to its normal position by the time delivery occurs.

What can be done?

For an expectant mother, there are already many things on the plate. Their first reaction would be of worry or anxiety. But nothing to lose sleep. You have not achieved your full term and the baby has not reached their optimum position. The best piece of news is that if a sunny side up baby occurs, they are expected to return back to normal position by the time of delivery. Only in rare cases, a baby continues in its still position. A doctor can pave the way for manual rotation of the baby. A series of steps are suggested that would enable you to reach out to the optimum position. An expectant mother would want the delivery to be as smooth as possible.

What can be done about it?

The human body is an amazing feature and the best piece of advice is to enable a baby to their normal and natural position by birth. You have to ground your shoulders back, with the body stuck on to the heels so that a pelvis does remain flared behind you. In any way, a body is expected to move and the best form of exercise is to walk when pregnant. This would force the hips along with pelvis to move in a natural manner in proper alignment so that the body can slide to an optimum position by the time of birth. If you stand a lot it helps to curb down pain during pregnancy. For a lot of woman lower back pain creeps in during pregnancy

Tools to your rescue

There are indeed a series of tools which helps the baby not to slouch in a mindless manner. One of the effective tips would be to wear a posture brace when you are working on a keyboard.

When seated an exercise ball would enable you to get a proper position for alignment. If you are even planning to slouch it might require additional abdominal strength and most women plan to do it in the third trimester of pregnancy.

To conclude you might be in a state of confusion why a newborn is doing all the talking.
