Before understanding the difference between an on-page SEO and off-page SEO, it is essential to know about each of them individually.

Firstly, the question arises what’s On-Page SEO? On-page SEO is simply the optimisations done within a website or webpage. Off-Page SEO, on the other hand, is the optimisation done outside a website.

There are different techniques used and few factors incorporated in such SEO optimisation which make them unique and different from one another.

On-Page SEO vs Off-Page SEO

1. Different aspects of On-Page SEO

Keyword

Keywords are an essential part of any content. It depicts the essence of a discussed matter. Keywords should be equally distributed throughout the content. With the implication of various Google algorithms, it is beneficial to distribute keywords evenly. Other than that, it helps to catch any reader's attention.

Keyword density also plays a significant role in content. An analyst should always incorporate -

1. Below 1% of the primary keywords and

2. 5% of secondary keyword and

3. S.I keywords.

Stuffing content with keywords will only drop their SERP.

Meta Title and Meta Description

Meta Title is not a title that any link incorporates. It’s a name tag for a specific webpage. In a properly SEO optimised content, Meta Title would be attractive and meaningful. It should also be a unique quote that can describe the topic.

Meta Description is equally essential considering that one knows what’s On-Page SEO. It is the snippet below every title showing on a search engine. It is a unique snippet consisting of only 160 characters.  A Meta Description is not a part of the content, but it can depict the essence of the entire content.

Inbound Links and Outbound Links

Among the few factors that an analyst must keep in mind regarding what’s on-page SEO is

Inbound links:Links incorporated within a content which can lead any reader to other pages within the same website

Outbound links:Links which divert any reader to a different website

2. Different aspects of Off-Page SEO

In simple words, Off-Page SEO is mainly needed to collect backlinks. Following are the various procedures to collect backlinks –

Guest Posting

Guest Posting is a common way to collect backlinks. In this method, a content developer would write an article for a different webpage. The only condition is that the webpage has to provide the writer with an opportunity to incorporate their link within that specific content.

Business Listing

Business listing is another off-page SEO technique used by various analysts. In this method, different websites allow companies to share their details like phone number, address, e-mail id etc. A backlink can be created within the list.

On-Page SEO vs Off-Page SEO is a topic of debate, yet the unique quality of these methods helps build content to rank on search engines.
