5 Advantages of Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Amazon Web Services has been growing its user base year over years- for years. Over 2,000 government websites trust AWS to support their online presence. In this article, we’re going to break down the core AWS advantages and why you may want to consider using the platform for your next project.

1. Ease of Use

AWS is centered on the user Console. Nearly everything you can think of can be reached through this console. That means that you can manage your hosting or migrate new software to your website from the same dashboard. This centralized service dashboard makes it very easy to access your services, as well as find the tools you need. Amazon Web Services is extremely well documented, meaning nearly everything has a guide for users to read.

2. Lots of Support Available

A lot of business owners struggle to wear the IT hat, and they shouldn’t have to! Unlike WordPress and Shopify where finding IT support can be difficult, AWS has plenty of professionals trained to deploy, update, and implement web services within the AWS network. To take this a step further, finding a company to support your IT with AWS is much easier than finding a WordPress Engineer that can also support the customer service ticketing system.

3. Top-Notch Security

Data breaches can kill a company. In fact, many major corporations close their doors after major security threats. With 12 data centers around the globe, AWS is one of the safest solutions for data protection. The company plans to open more data centers as the years go on. Unlike many other services, this global network is able to guarantee a level of safety that a lot of other hosting solutions cannot.

4. Highly Customizable

One of the most common pains growing brands experience is a CMS and operational system that is struggling to grow with their customer base. That’s not the case with Amazon Web Services. With over 70 different services offered through their network, there is nothing you can’t do (almost literally). If you decide that you need chatbots and automated triggers, you can achieve these goals without having to build from the ground up once again.

5. Unlimited Server Space

If 10,000 users visited your website tomorrow, would you be ready? More often than not, hosting platforms struggle to support websites when their traffic grows exponential. Much like the internet, your server has the bandwidth and if you get too many users- it cannot be supported without an update. Amazon Web Services is an extremely large and well-networked server provider. Their capacity is nearly endless. You don’t have to worry about a throttle in performance as your web traffic grows.

Conclusion

Altogether, AWS is a great option for start-ups and big brands alike. This incredibly dynamic system can grow with you and support millions of functions with its power cloud-computing power. More importantly, the security it offers to eCommerce businesses and brands accepting credit card information is unparalleled.

However, there is a caveat- You will need support if you are a novice. Though much can be done on your own, having a professional IT team that can support your Amazon Web Services will help you grow at the pace you want to (and need to) to survive in today’s digital landscape. That’s not to suggest you need it right away, but once you start adding services and expanding, it can be difficult to under billing and usage.

Do you use Amazon Web Services? Why or why not? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
