4 Amazing Benefits of Being Regular at Yoga

If you are a passionate yoga practitioner, probably you would have noticed some yoga benefits. Maybe you are just feeling more relaxed and at ease or maybe you're sleeping better or getting fewer colds. But if you have ever tried telling a new person about the benefits of yoga, people give explanations like it brings the energy up your spine or it improves the flow of blood".

However, look at the benefits of being regular at Yoga Greenwich:

Improves Your Flexibility:

Enhanced flexibility is one of the most obvious benefits of being at yoga. During your first Yoga Class Greenwich, probably you won't be able to touch your toes, and you won’t be able to do a backbend. But being regular in Yoga classes, you'll notice a gradual loosening. And eventually, seemingly impossible poses will become possible. You will see that pains and aches will start to disappear. That’s not a coincidence! Tight hips can strain the knee joint due to improper alignment of the shinbones and the thigh. Tight hamstrings make flattening of the lumbar spine causing back pain. In addition, inflexibility in muscles, as well as connective tissue (such as fascia and ligaments), can cause poor posture.

Builds Muscle Strength:

Strong muscles not only look good but give more to protect us from conditions like arthritis and back pain. They also help to prevent falls in elderly people. You balance your falls with flexibility when you build strength through yoga. Going to the Gym and just lifting the weights up will help you build strength at the expense of flexibility.

Perfects Your Posture:

Your head is like a bowling ball - round, big, and heavy. When you balance your head directly over an erect spine, you will notice that it takes much less work for your neck and back muscles to support it. Try to move it several inches forward, this will help you to strain your muscles. Keep on repeating forward-leaning bowling ball for eight or 12 hours a day and it’s no wonder that you will be tired. Fatigue won’t be your only problem, but poor posture can cause neck, back, and other muscle and joint problems. When you fall, your body may reimburse by flattening the normal inward curves in your neck and lower back. This may cause degenerative arthritis of the spine.

Prevents Cartilage and Joint Breakdown:

Each time you practice yoga (i.e. at Meridian Fitness), you take your joints through their full range of motion. This movement helps you fight against degenerative arthritis or you may lessen disability by "squeezing and soaking" areas of cartilage that aren't normally ignored to use. Cartilage is more like a sponge as it receives fresh nutrients only when its fluid is squeezed out provided with a new supply.
