The entrepreneurial innovation of CarDekho comes from Amit Jain and Anurag Jain, who took their garage-based startup to become India's leading online automobile marketplace. From their base in Jaipur, Rajasthan, the brothers Amit and Anurag Jain developed their garage operation into an internet powerhouse serving all of India.

During the 2008 Delhi Auto Expo, the concept for the CarDekho startup materialised. The unreliable nature of digital information for car buyers led the Jain brothers to find India's massive online opportunity in the automotive market. By using minimal resources, the platform created a user-friendly internet interface that incorporated automotive evaluations together with price comparison capabilities and expert advice and feature explanations to benefit individual buyers up to automotive enthusiasts.

GirnarSoft served as the foundation for the brothers' entrepreneurship journey before they launched CarDekho through their software outsourcing firm established during 2007. CarDekho emerged as the dominant business after GirnarSoft established its base. When CarDekho initially launched in its early stages from a garage in Jaipur instead of Bengaluru or Mumbai the team used GirnarSoft earnings for capitalization.

The accomplishment of CarDekho became significant. As the platform added real-time listings and integrated financial services with used car evaluations, it drew loyal customers for direct access to both sellers and dealers. On top of their successful vehicle sales results, the company established a paradigm shift in how Indians bought cars across the nation. Vertical expansion at the startup included embedded insurance solutions and financing offerings, which enabled multiple revenue channels.

Growing levels of recognition attracted increasing investor attention. Important investors Sequoia Capital, Hillhouse Capital and Times Internet funded CarDekho to help operations grow and services expand and enable market penetration. The automotive ecosystem run by CarDekho now spans more than 40 Indian cities and includes three subsidiary brands: BikeDekho, Gaadi.com and InsuranceDekho.

The Shark Tank India presentation by Amit Jain during 2022 made his impressive journey as a breakthrough Indian entrepreneur outside conventional startup backgrounds accessible to millions of viewers.

The CarDekho journey started with a simple garage space to become a tech industry leader demonstrating the strength of visionary objectives and unyielding determination together with technology-driven solutions for practical consumer needs. Amit and Anurag Jain demonstrate that groundbreaking ideas emerge anywhere including their original location in Rajasthan.
