During the high rise of the Covid-19 pandemic, Microsoft representatives and employees used to sleep in the organization's data hubs, as per Kristen Roby Dimlow, Human Resources Executive at Microsoft.

'In some particular countries, there was the entire lockdown, so we make our workers prefer to sleep in the data hubs,' she stated. 'They were concerned as they got held at a road blockage, attempting to go step back to home,' she responded.

The remote operation was not possible for some of the Microsoft employees in specialized roles. Some representatives at sites that house servers for Microsoft's online assistance, for example, Microsoft Teams, were amongst those who have affected, according to a report.

If data-center operatives did not need to appear on-site through the epidemic, the organization offered them to work from home as complete as attainable.

Data hubs, on the whole, are not positions where people relax and take nap.

A non-governmental organization issued a report in 2011 that listed the top 10 cloud computing organizations conducted on the sources of electricity usage in their data hubs.

Data hubs utilized up to 2% of all global electricity at the moment, and this figure was assumed to increase.
