2.4 Million Indian WhatsApp Accounts were Banned in July
WhatsApp had prohibited 2.39 million Indian accounts in the month of July. Well, it was the highest till date this year, the Meta owned popular instant messaging app has mentioned about the information on late Thursday in its monthly report.

The Asian nation's strict IT laws have made it important for large digital platforms in order to publish compliance reports each month.
Certain draft rules were circulated in the month of June which proposed setting up a panel in order to listen to user appeals. It has mentioned that the important social media messaging platforms should permit identification of the first originator of the information, if it was directed by courts to do so.
Around 1.42 million were 'proactively prohibited,' before any reports were issued from the users.
Most number of accounts were prohibited on the basis of complaints which had received through the company's grievances channel and the tools and resources that was used to notice such offenses, as mentioned by the social media platform. In July, WhatsApp had received a total of 574 grievance reports.
The messaging platform, that has been criticized earlier for spreading fake news and hate speech within the country. Along with this, 2.21 million accounts were taken down in India in the month of June.
