Google Provides Online assistance with an SOS alert feature and emergency numbers in Assam Floods

Google is helping those affected people who have been affected by the Assam floods in terms of distributing emergency numbers, websites, and Google maps directly using Google Search.

On Tuesday, Google announced the assistance in terms of online for the affected by the Assam Flood. The people who are close to the affected area can call the emergency numbers shown by Google. They can also visit Google’s website and Google Maps as well.

Google has announced that it has announced an SOS alert feature for affected people and which will also notify the affected places and the rescue teams to go for action as soon as possible.

The new feature now enables users to know about the flood-affected areas and to get updates from authoritative local and national sources by searching for “Assam Floods emergency resources” on Google Search. People near the affected area also can see the emergency phone numbers, maps, and websites to get relevant support.

Google also said in a blog post about the currently launched SOS alert whenever anyone will search about the affected area. It will also update the situation.

Company Google also announced the financial assistance of $500,000 (Rs 3.93 Crore) to the center for Disaster Philanthropy. The company said about its vision is “to support community-based organizations working to provide emergency support and long-term recovery in the affected areas.”

Google has also initiated a process of fundraising under which it adds the organization which works to raise funds for such disaster-affected people. The organization which is working on the Google Pay platform to raise funds for the affected people is Smile Foundation and Goonj to let users donate funds toward flood relief efforts in Assam.

Such disasters are the cause of the loss of many lives and the loss of living places and prosperity. Natural calamity now a days occurs more recently just because of the disturbance in nature.
