Volkswagen Collaborating With Bosch on Automated Driving Software

Volkswagen made a collaboration with Bosch company for making its cars Automated Driving Cars with the new Automated Driving Software.

The giant car company Volkswagen is planning to add a level 2 autonomous driving feature in Volkswagen vehicles in 2023.

On Tuesday, the Company Volkswagen, a giant car-making company, and Bosch, an autos supplier have signed a partnership to develop software for automated driving to use in Volkswagen passenger vehicles. The information regarding the matter has been given in a statement that was released by both companies.

The software that has been developed by the company is named as so-called “Level-2” Autonomous Driving that will consist the Hands-Free driving in cities, rural areas, and on the Motorway including the level-3 system that will take full control of all driving functions on the Motorway.

The Level-2 Driving would be installed in the coming future cars of Volkswagen in 2023.

The Software and parts could later be used in other automakers’ vehicles, the statement said by the company without stating the date of launching.

Such collaboration is the second major collaboration that has been announced this year by such big two companies in which this week the companies said they would be setting up a new venture by the end of this year to equip battery cell factories with machinery.

Any news about the investment in such technology has not been announced by the company yet.

Both the giant company have bundled the Software sections internally into a single unit and the motive is to strengthen their services in the highly competitive world where the companies like Tesla and Alphabet increasingly venturing into the autos sector.

Volkswagen company has aimed for its Software Unit, Cariad that will supply 60 % of the software Volkswagen by 2025, and the 10 percent has almost has been invested when the unit was found in 2020.
