Twitter's head of security has left the firm, and the company's top information security officer will leave in the coming weeks, the company said on Friday. The reorganisation comes after Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey stepped down as CEO in November, turning over the reins to senior deputy Parag Agrawal, who has subsequently overhauled the company's leadership structure. The departures were not said to be voluntary on Twitter.

Following a security breach that permitted hackers to tweet from verified accounts for notable individuals such as billionaire Bill Gates and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Peiter Zatko, often known as 'Mudge,' was named head of security in 2020. Zatko's retirement and Rinki Sethi's planned exit as CISO were first reported by the New York Times on Friday. Zatko and Sethi could not be reached for comment right away.

The problem arose as a result of a technological glitch, which has since been resolved :
On Friday, Twitter had an outage that prevented some users from accessing the social media platform. Shortly after it was noticed by some impacted customers and detected by outage tracking software Downdetector, the firm recognised the problem and provided a patch. Due to several outages, some users were unable to access Counter-Strike, Roblox, Trello, and Twitch, in addition to Twitter. According to user complaints, Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V or GTA 5) is still having troubles in several regions of the world. The Twitter outage was confirmed by the official Twitter Support account on the network, which stated that it was caused by a technical problem.
'Over the last several hours, Twitter may not have been operating as intended for some of you,' the firm said. 'We've solved a technical fault that was causing issues with how Tweets were being routed to our backend systems –– everything should be back to normal now.' Sorry for the inconvenience!'
