I’m interested in using Claude for desktop tasks, but I’m hesitant to let an agent interact with a machine that has work files, logged-in accounts, and open applications.

What does a sensible test setup look like for computer-use actions? I’d like to learn how people check that an agent can recover from a wrong click or an unexpected screen before giving it access to anything important. Is a disposable virtual machine enough, or are there other safeguards you consider essential?
