I use Claude to compare internal policy documents, and the tricky cases are the ones where two documents say slightly different things. A summary that sounds confident isn’t enough for review; I need to see which exact passage supports each claim and know when the files conflict.
What prompting or document setup has worked for getting exact supporting passages rather than broad references to a whole file? I’m also interested in whether people ask Claude to quote page numbers or section headings, and how they handle an outdated policy alongside a newer one. I’m looking for a dependable way to check conflicting policy documents, not just a polished summary.
