I’m using Claude Code in a monorepo where different packages have their own conventions, scripts, and test commands. The root-level instructions cover the whole project, but I’m not sure how reliably Claude notices guidance that only applies inside a particular package.
For people working this way, do nested instruction files keep edits within the right package boundaries, or do you still need to restate the relevant rules in each request? I’d be interested in examples where this worked well—or where it missed a local convention.
