We’ve enabled cross-region replication for an S3 bucket, but I’m not sure what a useful recovery test should look like. Seeing objects appear in the destination bucket proves replication is running; it doesn’t tell us whether we can restore the right data under pressure.
How do you verify S3 replication for an actual recovery scenario? I’m interested in what you test around replication delay, version history, delete markers, and permissions in the destination account.
