# How do you test AWS S3 replication before relying on it for recovery?

We’ve enabled cross-region replication for an S3 bucket, but I’m not sure what a useful recovery test should look like. Seeing objects appear in the destination bucket proves replication is running; it doesn’t tell us whether we can restore the right data under pressure.

How do you verify **S3 replication** for an actual recovery scenario? I’m interested in what you test around replication delay, version history, delete markers, and permissions in the destination account.
