How much is enough?

Always pay attention to what your body needs. On the other hand, the National Academy of Medicine recommends daily total water consumption needs based on scientific evidence. Since 20% of that amount is food, the remaining 80% should come from liquids (1 cup = 8 ounces):

  • 9 cups for women
  • 12.5 cups for men
  • 10 cups for pregnant women
  • 13 cups for breastfeeding mothers

If you do not like the taste of ordinary water, try adding lemon squeeze, lime, a few sprigs of fresh mint, or a slice of cucumber or orange. You can also go out and pick some berries or watermelons. It takes anything to convince you to drink it.

While water is my favorite liquid, other fluids (eg, coffee, tea) that have health benefits also count in your fluid intake. There are many reasons to hydrate, but I have reduced them to the first ten. Best wishes for your continued excellent health!

Hydration for Health: Top 10 Health Benefits of Drinking Water

1. Water balance in the body

****** Water gain and loss are essential to maintain water homeostasis. Shortness of breath, sweating and ***** are all daily water shortages. These damages also serve as a natural detoxification technique to remove contaminants. Finally, the body can maintain and increase temperature through this delicate ****** water balance (which requires proper, daily drinking) (i.e., thermoregulation).

2. Performance of the immune system

When it comes to immunity, getting enough water is not the first thing that comes to mind. That is a must. When we are sick (for example, diarrhea) or struggling with illness, we lose more water, so remember our fluids.

Hydration helps in lubrication of the mucous membranes of the mouth and nose (our first line from most infections), lymphatic drainage, removal of cellular waste, and movement of nutrients (I'm looking for you, vitamin D), antibodies. , And more. In addition, data from 2020 suggest that dehydration may be a risk factor for the severity and mortality of COVID-19.

3. Weight loss

Water has no calories. So you have it. According to one study, drinking plenty of water, drinking water as an alternative to high-calorie beverages, and drinking water before meals are all useful weight loss methods. Water consumption has also been demonstrated to promote energy expenditure and *** oxidation, especially in those who are obese.

4. Kidney worship

Drinking more fluids reduces the risk of kidney stones and if you have them before they are less likely to come back. And, although additional studies are needed, some studies suggest that increased fluid intake may help reduce urinary tract infections (UTIs).

5. Skin Hydration

Water intake increases skin hydration and reduces dryness, two important factors in having attractive, youthful-looking skin, and is one of the most cost-effective anti-aging therapy available.

6. Stability in the digestive system

****** must be moving, hence it is called the '***** movement'. It does not have to be the same for everyone. Constipation is associated with a lack of water consumption, so being hydrated is an easy solution to your digestive problems.

7. Headache relief

Lack of fluids has been suggested to play a role in the pathogenesis of headaches. Patients with headaches who drank more water (1.5 liters more or 6.3 cups more) saw an improvement in their symptoms in scientific research.

8. Physical fitness

Not consuming enough water and compensating for losses during activities (e.g., sweating) can lead to poor performance. Failure to hydrate (and electrolyte replacement is also important) results in decreased blood supply to the muscles, decreased cardiac output, decreased endurance, and increased fatigue.

9. Brain function and mood

Dehydration can have a detrimental effect on our mood, cognitive vision, and fatigue in studies.

10. Eyecare

Due to the high percentage of water in our eyes, dehydration is associated with problems such as eye defects, cataracts, and retinal vascular disease. If it's not enough for you to drink, I do not know what to do.

Finally, drink!

Water is an important daily lifestyle determination that helps every cell in our body stay healthy and function properly. In addition to the ten health benefits mentioned above, water is involved in the metabolism of the food we eat, the movement of many chemicals in the cellular membranes, the balance of many different cellular activities, and communication functions.

We were made entirely with water. One of the easiest ways to improve your health and wellness is to be aware and purposeful about hydration. In addition, I almost forgot: water is free. Even if you choose bottled/filtered water, it is cheaper than high sugar and s *** - filled lots!
