Now let’s take a glance at how to improve the performance of your internet connectivity.
1.    Reset your modem
Restarting or resetting your modem and router can help you in solving the brain-teaser issues that are physically linked with your home network and internet. It is also necessary to use the latest firmware of your existing devices (router and the modem) as discussed before. In the case of Netgear router, update the firmware using 192.168.1.250 IP address.
2.    Consider checking the source of interference
Note down that if you are using a wireless router, some devices in your house or neighbors can badly affect your WiFi connection. Most of the routers come in the following varieties.
•    802.11b.
•    801.11g.
•    802.11n (2.4GHz).
•    And all above 802.11ac (5.8GHz).
The devices that can interfere with your wireless connection include cell phone, Bluetooth speakers, cordless gadgets and microwaves. In order to get rid of such issues, we need you to turn them off or move your router away from such obstructions. Once done, try accessing Netgear genie setup wizard to check whether the issue is resolved or not.
3.    Consider checking all your devices on the network
It would be a big thing to worry that if someone (unidentified people) enters your network and downloading lots of stuff from it without your permission. In that case, you are supposed to get familiar with the web interface of your router. To get rid of such issues, consider installing an antivirus program on your router.
Note: Such interferences won’t allow you to access mywifiext.net setup page. To fix this issue, build a strong SSID and password for your network and WiFi devices. Moreover, place your router and the range extender away from door, walls and windows.
4.    Move your computer or a wireless router
Are you connected to the internet via wireless router? Well, the reason for asking you is only that we want our users to get rid of poor connections and dropped or weak signals. The interference of metal appliances and electronic gadgets can be the reason for dropped connection and poor/low speed. In that case, consider moving your computer away from those devices that carry the same frequency.
Moreover, clean your router from a dry piece of cloth and never let dust cover it. Also, place your router closer to the existing modem and on a higher shelf.
5.    Secure your device
Here, we would like to insist our users that do not leave your device on default network name and password set by the device maker (manufacturer). After the process of configuration, consider changing the default details as soon as possible. The network name you built is supposed to be about 8 characters and password of about 16 characters. Do not share your login details with anyone.
