The manufacturing of the Covid-19 vaccine, Covaxin, will shortly proceed at Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. Covaxin is an indigenous vaccine that existed to be manufactured by Hyderabad-situated biotechnology firm, Bharat Biotech.

The Centre has proposed a nod for the manufacturing of Covaxin at the Bulandshar factory Bharat Immunologicals & Biologicals Corporation Limited (BIBCOL). It will produce 2 crore quantities of Covaxin each month.

BIBCOL is a PSU of the administration. It was ascertained in 1989 in Bulandshahar. It produces oral polio vaccines & additional immunizers.

Covaxxim manufactory Bharat Biotech & BIBCOL retain to endorsed an MoU for the manufacturing of the vaccine at the Bulandshahr manufacturer. The Ministry of Health will deliver Rs 30 crore economic aid for the manufacturing of Covaxin.

BIBCOL will produce Covaxin with its prevailing additional quantity. The manufacturing will commence shortly. The organization had prematurely notified that it has the potentials to produce Covaxin according to the administration directives.

The organization can produce 6 crore doses of polio vaccine every year with prevailing capabilities. Besides, BIBCOL also prepares Zinc Dispersible Tablets & Diarrhea Management Kits.
