Passwordless Authentication

Google has made passkeys default for its account. Passkeys are simpler and more secure than passwords and OTPs, and they rely on the device's security to allow users to authenticate a login.

Gmail's AI-Based Safety Features

Google has implemented AI-based safety features in Gmail to protect users from spam, phishing, and malware attacks. The company says that its current setup offers around 99.9% protection against these threats. Built-In Privacy Controls

• Easier access to "Clear Browsing Data": Google has rolled out new improvements to Chrome's deletion tools on Android. Soon, users will have the option to quickly delete the last 15 minutes of their recent browsing history as well as their site data and recent tabs.
• Get details about leaks and data breaches from the Dark Web: Google also has a dark web report feature that helps users see if their Gmail address has been exposed to the Dark Web. The feature also lets users know how they can protect their data online.
• Google Password Manager on iOS: Google Password Manager, integrated into the Google App, can now serve as an Autofill provider on iOS devices, making password management more convenient and secure.

Cybersecurity Beyond Google Products

Google says it is partnering with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to educate users on best practices. This collaboration includes a series of informative videos designed to raise awareness about cybersecurity, highlighting the importance of multifactor authentication, strong password usage, regular software updates, and the identification of scams.
