What is the use of UI Page Control in iOS?

UIPageViewController is one of the class in Cocoa Framework library that is used to creating and managing page controls. In iPhone or iPod devices we see a series of dots horizontally and these particular dots having its own link of page view.
Page control displays the number of open views and which one is currently visible, the currently viewed page is indicated by a white dot.
