When I choose Academic focus in Perplexity, should I expect results to come only from journals and scholarly databases, or can it still draw on general websites when they seem relevant?

I’m trying to understand what that setting actually changes before relying on it for research. If you’ve compared Perplexity Academic focus sources with a regular search, did the source mix or citations differ in a noticeable way?
