I use Claude Projects for work where each project has its own background notes and instructions. In a particular chat, I might also give Claude a one-off direction that seems to conflict with the project guidance.

How does Claude handle that kind of conflict? I’m trying to work out whether project instructions act as firm rules for every chat or more like context that a specific request can override.
