I’m building a small customer-support bot and want its replies to sound consistent: calm, concise, and not overly formal. We have a few hundred approved examples, but the prompt is already getting long as we add more rules.

At what point is fine-tuning worth testing instead of continuing to refine the prompt and examples? I’m especially interested in how people judge whether the change actually improves consistent house style without making the bot less reliable on unusual questions.
