I’m researching a mesh Wi-Fi kit with Perplexity. Several cited reviews mention the same unusual test result, and two use almost identical wording. They appear on different domains, but I’m not sure they represent separate tests.
That matters because “five reviewers found this issue” is a much stronger claim than “one review was republished or paraphrased five times.”
What I want the comparison to show
Ideally, each review would identify who actually tested the hardware, whether it contains original measurements, and whether its findings are attributed to another publication. Shared ownership would be useful context, but I wouldn’t want it treated as proof that the testing was shared.
Can Perplexity help trace syndicated product reviews back to their source and group dependent reports together? How should I phrase the request when publication dates, attribution notes, or full review text aren’t available?
I’m not trying to exclude affiliate-funded sites automatically. I want to distinguish genuinely separate testing from repeated reporting before treating an apparent consensus as evidence.
