For quick background research, a normal web search is often enough. When I need papers or scholarly material, though, I’m unsure whether Perplexity’s academic-focused search gives meaningfully different results or just a narrower list that still needs checking.
Do you switch to Perplexity academic search mode for literature reviews, technical questions, or only particular subjects? I’m interested in what kinds of queries benefit from it and where you still prefer a library database or another research tool.
