We’re considering scaling a few Google Cloud Run services down to zero overnight to reduce idle spend. They’re mostly internal tools, but some are called by scheduled jobs and occasional users outside normal working hours.
Before changing the minimum instance settings, what should we check for Cloud Run scale to zero? I’m wondering how teams assess first-request latency, scheduled callers, and any background work that might be affected when no instance is running.
